Camp to honor community legends at Black history event

Camp Community College will honor “Legends in Our Community” in the Western Tidewater Community at its Black History Month celebration at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, at the college’s Regional Workforce Development Center in Franklin. The event is free.
A CCC news release noted that two legends from Franklin, Suffolk, Isle of Wight County and Southampton County will be honored for their service to the community at the event.
Also included will be an interpretation of Frederick Douglass by Suffolk resident Nathan Richardson.

Opened in 1971, Paul D. Camp Community College is a two-year public educational institution with campuses in Franklin and Suffolk, and a center in Smithfield.
