The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a flood warning for the Nottoway River at Sebrell affecting Southampton County, and the warning will be in effect from Wednesday evening, March 6, until late Monday morning, March 11.

The warning stated that for the Chowan Basin, including Sebrell, minor flooding is forecast.

In terms of precautionary and preparedness actions, the warning urged motorists to turn around when encountering flooded roads, noting that most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
