American Legion Post 49 recently  recognized William Swartz of Smithfield  for his 50 years of membership in the American Legion.  Pictured at left is Second Vice Commander Ron Fravel who presented a certificate to Swartz on April 8 at his home. Fravel was accompanied by Post Commander Jerry Starling (not pictured). Post 49 welcomes new members who served in the military. Monthly meetings are the first Tuesday at 818 South Church St. in Smithfield.
