AHOSKIE, North Carolina – Lloyd Wayne Conner, affectionately known as “Pork Chop,” peacefully passed away on April 26, 2024, at the age of 78, at Gates House in Gatesville, North Carolina. He was born on Nov. 24, 1945 in Bertie County.

Lloyd dedicated several years of his life to maintenance construction at BASF Chemical. He was a man who was never at a loss for words, enjoyed engaging conversations, cherished his chewing tobacco and above all, adored his grandchildren.

In years past, Lloyd attended Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love for family and his jovial spirit. Lloyd is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Conner; his mother, Sarah Conner; his wife, Linda Marie Conner and his brothers, William Earl Conner and James Edward Conner.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Stephanie) Conner of Murfreesboro, North Carolina; grandson, Liam Blake Conner; granddaughter, Hartleigh Rose Conner, both of Murfreesboro, North Carolina; sisters, Sarah Conner Turner of Colerain, North Carolina, Peggy Conner Whitaker of Greenville, North Carolina and brother, David Ray (Sheila) Conner of Woodland, North Carolina.

A memorial service to celebrate Lloyd’s life will be held on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Meherrin Baptist Church with the Rev. John Porter officiating. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather in the fellowship hall of the church.
