A dispute between two men at a Sebrell ballfield on Thursday afternoon became physical, resulting in a laceration to one of the men, who also received summonses for several offenses, according to the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.
“The incident was a dispute between two men at the Sebrell ballfield concerning trespassing,” SCSO Maj. Camden Cobb said. “The incident became physical, and one subject suffered a cut to his face.”
Cobb noted that both individuals made statements indicating that the other individual had produced a weapon at some point during the incident, but Cobb said these statements could not be confirmed.
He stated that Drew Adams, 24, of Courtland, was issued summonses for trespassing, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault and battery.
Cobb said Adams refused medical treatment, and the other individual involved did not report an injury.
