WINDSOR – Robin Cobb Ellis, 62, passed away July 11, 2024 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

Robin C. Ellis

obb and Lois B. Cobb. She was a 1979 graduate of Franklin High School and then went on to graduate from Paul D. Camp Community College. She began work at Southampton Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk. The majority of Robin’s career was at Western Tidewater Community Services Board in Human Resources for 21 years, followed by the last five years at International Paper Mill as Human Resources Coordinator.

Since she was a teenager, Robin was known as “Pick” by her many friends. Robin’s favorite holiday was Christmas. Some of her other favorite things were a good snowfall (or hoping for one!), a summer thunderstorm, a fire in the fireplace, the beach, sweet tea and coffee, playing Pick 3 and Pick 4, her daddy’s laugh and making memories with family and friends.

Robin was a giver – she loved cooking meals for holidays and birthdays. She always gave the best gifts, putting much thought into choosing the right things. She loved spoiling her children and grandsons and other family and friends.

Robin was predeceased by her mother, Lois Brown Cobb; her maternal grandparents, Skidler and Catherine Brown; and her paternal grandparents, Tony Roy and Willie Annie Cobb. She is survived by her father, Melton Rawls Cobb and her loving husband of 37 years, Robert Earl Ellis Jr. She is also survived by her three children: Madison C. Ellis, Amanda E. Pittman (Ryan) and Meredith E. Speight (John Roger); her three grandsons, Thomas James Pittman, Clayton Cobb Ellis and John Earl Speight; her sisters, Cathy C. Felts and Amy R. Cobb; her brother, Walter A. Cobb and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Left to cherish her memory are many friends, including lifelong friends, Betty B. Whitehurst and Annie Ricks.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Cody Jones officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the celebration of life. A graveside service will follow at Colosse Baptist Church. Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
