A Royal Farms in Carrollton is set to open in August, according to Isle of Wight County Economic Development Director Kristi Sutphin.
Isle of Wight County supervisors approved the 12-pump gas station and convenience store in 2022 for one of several commercial parcels in The Crossings at Bartlett Station, a mixed-use development at the corner of Carrollton and Brewers Neck boulevards.
The Suffolk Workforce Development Center, located at 157 North Main St., Suite D, on the second floor, has announced hiring events on July 22 from 1-5 p.m., July 25 from 2-6 p.m. and July 29 from 1-5 p.m.
Sutphin said the company expects to hire 40 people, including managers, shift leaders, cashiers and chefs.
Royal Farms will be the second business to open its doors in the development, following the new branch of Langley Federal Credit Union that’s now open at 14328 Lori Ann Way.
A Publix supermarket that will anchor The Crossings, which is being built directly behind the Royal Farms, is on track to open by early fall, according to The Crossings’ developer, Jerry Bowman.
The development’s residential phase, which is approved for up to 240 condominium units and 52 single-family homes, broke ground in 2021.
