Isle of Wight County Schools recently hosted a parent/family engagement event at Windsor High School for English Language (EL) students across the division.
An IWCS news release noted that the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the school division and brought its rock wall, which was a huge hit.
Anna’s Pizza Too in Windsor provided pizzas for the participants.
WHS Spanish teacher John Rubio served as the DJ for the evening, while WHS Spanish Honor Society students were event volunteers.
Students testing out of the EL program were celebrated and recognized with certificates of achievement and special medals.
“Parent/family engagement events foster positive relationships between the EL students, their families, the schools and the community,” IWCS officials said in the release.
