NEWSOMS – Richard Edward “Cornbread” Pope Jr. of Old Chapel Road, Newsoms, Virginia, passed away Aug. 5, 2024 in his home. A public viewing will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 3 – 7 p.m. On Monday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m., a homegoing celebration will be held at Move of God Ministries, 221 South Main Street in Franklin with the Rev. James C. Banks Jr. delivering the eulogy. The interment will follow in Shiloh Church Cemetery. Service provided by the professional and caring staff of Wm. M.
