Belmont Peanuts recently completed construction on an expansion to its gourmet deli kitchen and on the addition of a secondary warehouse at 22420 Southampton Parkway in Courtland. The expansion will allow the company to provide more services to the public with great efficiency.
Robert Marks IV, president of Belmont Peanuts, explained that for this growth project, his company expanded the overall size of the Belmont Gourmet Deli kitchen, adding 1,500 square feet to the backside of the existing building/kitchen. This addition also includes a conference room/office space.
“Our main objective with the expansion was to allow for a more streamlined process,” he said. “Refrigeration, dry shelving, prep lines and an assortment of kitchen equipment was all expanded upon. This will allow our employees to work more efficiently to better serve our customers, decrease wait times and to provide an overall better dining experience.
“Another major application that the expansion will provide is a brand-new online ordering system that will be implemented in the near future,” he continued. “This will be beneficial for anyone that wants to beat the rush or just have their food waiting upon arrival.”
He noted that the additional space allows the deli to handle much larger orders, like for catering services or for a large bulk order for any business.
“Lastly, our addition also included an exceptional conference room,” he said. “This will allow us to provide the conference room to any business leaders that would like to utilize the space for a lunch meeting, or simply a team gathering — with the Belmont Deli catering, of course.”
Marks said the online ordering system should launch sometime in September, and the availability of the conference room will begin Monday, Sept. 2.
As for the secondary warehouse, he noted that it is already being utilized, and it offers many benefits to the company.
“We can reduce rented warehouse spaces, consolidate our raw and finished goods and simplify the processes of our incoming and outgoing product,” he said. “It will secure Belmont’s continued growth.”
He acknowledged that there is always risk involved when it comes to growth.
“You can’t grow externally unless you are prepared internally,” he said. “In this, I am confident that we are ready to take that next step. Watching it all come together and to see it being utilized in the way that we envisioned is incredibly gratifying.
“We are grateful for our wonderful customers and especially the incredible team here at Belmont that has allowed us to take this next step,” he said.
The expansion project began in January and construction was completed July 30.
