The Franklin Sportsman Association honors members for 2021-2023. Members are recognized for outstanding contributions and achievements over the past four years. Due to the rigors experienced during the COVID-19 era, these honors were put on hold. Before the pandemic, the association recognized one member whose dedication, sportsmanship, and community involvement have set them apart.
2021: Mr. Terrence Parker
For 2021, Mr. Terrence Parker was recognized as the 2021 Sportsman of the Year for his exceptional leadership and commitment to the association and known for his tireless efforts and dedication to taking on several responsibilities for our Association during the COVID-19 era. He single-handedly maintained the operation of our building and all issues related to the building’s upkeep during one of the most challenging times this Association has ever experienced. Mr. Parker has always been a cornerstone of the Franklin Sportsman Association. His enthusiasm and dedication have inspired many and set a high standard for others.
2022: Mr. Henri Porter
For 2022, Henri Porter received the prestigious Sportsman of the Year award. Mr. Porter’s contributions to the association included spearheading several initiatives, sharing many new ideas and always doing what most organizations call the “GRUNT WORK” when many hesitated to volunteer. He always made himself available at various hours of the day/night to fill in and open or close our building when the person/persons responsible were not available to be there. He has always been voiceful and active on issues pertaining to enhancing the Association’s Community Outreach Programs. His hard work, perseverance, and dedication have set a standard above reproach and are hard for many to follow.
2023: Mr. Steve Adams
For 2023, Steve Adams was honored as the 2023 Co-Sportsman of the Year. Adams is recognized for his dedication to promoting community service, working at numerous Sportsman-sponsored events/fundraisers, and using his resources to attain various assets needed for the upkeep and enhancement of the association’s building. His efforts in spearheading fundraisers and committees have greatly benefited the association’s members, ensuring that the values of respect and responsibility are upheld in all activities he participated in when serving the public. His steadfast support, loyalty and hard work has shown others what it takes to follow when required and how to lead when necessary. He exemplifies the standards that all our members should emulate.
2023: Mr. Ronnie Adams
Also, for 2023, Ronnie Adams was also named the 2023 Co-Sportsman of the Year. Mr. Adams, a long-time member, has shown unwavering dedication to the association through his volunteer work and leadership in various projects. Adams has always shown his leadership by example and without hesitation or complaining. He is a vital asset to our Association and does what most organizations call the “grunt work,” no matter what the job requires. His commitment to leading by example and often going beyond the call of duty during events has benefited our Association in hard-to-measure ways. During 2023, Adams’s efforts truly left a lasting impact on the Franklin Sportsman Association.
