All lanes have reopened on Route 643 (Darden Scout Road) in Southampton County as of Friday, Aug. 30, following the completion of culvert restoration work by the Virginia Department of Transportation.

A VDOT news release noted that the detour has been lifted, and lanes in both directions are open to traffic.  

The restoration work was necessary to extend the lifespan of the existing culvert.
