BOYKINS – Evelyn Ferguson Carr, 77, passed away on Sept. 21, 2024 in her home. Born in Newsoms on Jan. 14, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James Albert Ferguson and Nellie C. Johnson Ferguson.

Evelyn was a retired nurse’s aide for the Southampton County Health Department with 23 years of service and was brought up in Newsoms Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Tammy Lynn Stieh of Boykins; two sons, William Dale Carr of Capron and James Curtis “Benji” Carr of Boykins; two sisters, Carol Phillips of Franklin and Dorothy Vann of Conway, North Carolina; five brothers, James Alton Ferguson of Franklin, Ronnie Bryant Ferguson of Newsoms, William Peyton Ferguson of Newsoms, Steve Milton Ferguson of Newsoms and David Ruffin Ferguson of Boykins; one sister-in-law and seven grandchildren.

Services will be private.
