Southampton County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Deputy Forest Hart and Capt. Serena White recently presented a Pet CPR program at the Courtland branch of the Blackwater Regional Library to benefit people who own dogs or cats.
A library news release noted that Hart and White demonstrated life-saving measures to take in relation to CPR hand positions, compressions and breaths, choking, basic first aid for heat stroke, bleeding, impalement, poisoning, bloat, being struck by a vehicle, and a dog/cat fight.
Hart and White also provided a list of emergency phone numbers.
