Blackwater Regional Library will host a Winter Coat Drive from Nov. 11-30 at all of its locations.

A BRL news release conveyed library officials’ understanding that there are members of the community that need assistance in the form of warm clothing. Proper winter wear ensures children of all ages have coats that fit, allowing them to stay warm and healthy throughout the winter, while older adults may be more vulnerable to the cold and need warm clothing to navigate the winter months comfortably.

“Blackwater Regional Library makes a concerted effort each year to host a donation drive which identifies and addresses an immediate need in the community,” BRL Assistant Library Director Bonnie Lauver stated. “In years past, the library has collected items for local animal shelters and food banks. This year, we would like to continue those efforts by addressing the need for adequate winter clothing.”

During the Winter Coat Drive, donations of new and gently used coats will be accepted at all branches of Blackwater Regional Library for distribution within the community. For locations and hours, visit www.blackwaterlib.org/.
