SUFFOLK – Margaret Hughes Holland, 80, went to be with the Lord Nov. 29, 2024. Margaret was a native of Colerain, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late George Worley Hughes and Adelaide Temperance Perry Hughes.

Margaret was a 1962 graduate of Colerain High School and retired from Lipton Tea Company. She was a founding member of Jordans Crossing Ministries and had read the Bible completely eight times and was working on the ninth.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, James A. “Junior” Darden Jr.; two grandsons; and one great grandson.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. The burial will follow at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 2 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to Jordans Crossing Ministries, 6733 South Quay Road, Suffolk, VA 23437.
