Members of the Cheroenhaka (Nottoway) Indian Tribe of Southampton County recently contributed to the Navy Exchange Service Command’s National American Indian Heritage Month observance. A NEXCOM representative thanked Chief Walt “Red Hawk” Brown for his engaging and informative presentation on the ethnohistory and current history of the Cheroenhaka (Nottoway) Indian Tribe. Tribal members gathered with NEXCOM representatives for a photo at the event.
