BOYKINS — Norman Charles Lee, 83 passed on to be with his Lord on Dec. 24, 2024. He was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and raised in Boykins, Virginia. He was the son of the late Wilmer Monicure Lee and Irene Smith Lee.
Norman attended Kingdom Impact Southampton, was a former Virginia National Guardsman and was a former commander of the Boykins American Legion. He loved playing softball, farming and collecting model cars, trucks, trains and tractors. Part of his collection can be found at The Southampton A
griculture Museum in Courtland.
Norman was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was known to some as “Big Red” and to others as “Stormin Norman.” Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Shirley Everett Lee; his two daughters, Robin Lee Pinner (Jimmy) and Jennifer Lee (Jobie Romines); four grandchildren, Chelsea Twisdale (Pete), Patrick Pinner, Wyatt Pinner and Chandler Pinner; four great-grandchildren, Pete Twisdale III, Cecilia Twisdale, Leland Twisdale and Emerson Pinner; one sister-in-law, Connie Everett Burgess and her children, Katie Magette (Glenn) and April Larivee (Justin) and their children. Most of all he loved his Lord, Jesus and his family.
The family would like to thank Courtland Healthcare and Rehabilitation for their care and support during his stay there.
A celebration of life service will be held at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin on Sunday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. Memorial donations in Norman’s name may be made to Kingdom Impact Southampton.
