To the Editor:

There was a news article recently about the cost of Gov. Bob McDonnell’s inauguration ceremonies. The astronomical cost was paid for by his campaign fund.

To all those who contributed to his or any other campaign fund: I challenge you to donate at least an equal amount to your local school district.

Balancing the state’s budget has required extreme cuts, and our schools would benefit greatly from your generosity. If you gave thousands of dollars to a political campaign, surely you can afford to support schools in this difficult time.

If you have a little, give a little; if you have a lot, give a lot. Our kids are worth it.
