SUFFOLK—A 16-year-old has been identified as the person who died in this morning’s crash on U.S. 58 near Holland.
Suffolk Police as of mid-afternoon Tuesday did not name the boy because next of kin had not been notified.
The adult male driver and four additional passengers also have not been identified. Three passengers were taken to Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk while two were flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, police said. Without names, their conditions could not be checked.
The driver of the sport-utility vehicle and a 4-year-old were thrown after the Toyota Sequoia left the road, went into the median, hit a culvert and rolled on its side, police said. The remaining three were trapped inside the vehicle after the 6:15 crash near Manning Bridge Road.
All lanes of traffic were reopened by 2:15 p.m.
