To the Editor:

Franklin City Councilman Greg McLemore recently put out a challenge to the public that if anyone could answer a certain question pertaining to Sept. 11, 2001, he would kindly step out of the mayoral race (“A challenge answered?” April 8).

Well, his challenge was answered with the proper answer, but he chose to renege on his word and honor his promise, stating that he only made that challenge statement in “jest.”

Councilman McLemore, your credibility has been severely damaged throughout all parts of Franklin. Public polls have shown that you are clearly way behind in the mayoral race, so why not do the honorable thing and step aside? Oh, I forgot; you don’t know anything about honor.

What’s more important? Getting Jim Councill out of office or blocking Raystine Johnson from getting into office?
