SURRY—The Franklin High School girls’ tennis team defeated Surry 7-2 during a Thursday Tri-Rivers District match.

The Lady Broncos won five out of six single matches and two of three doubles matches. Tallying markers in singles were Asya Lee, Jeanetta Sessoms, Rebecca Gray, Tyreckka Hawks and Cheyenne Banks.

In doubles, No. 1 duo Lee and Sessoms and No. 3 Gray and Maura Zurfluh won. In exhibition doubles, LoKenya Ennis and Liz Conner won.

Franklin is 5-7overall and 2-1 in the district.
