Contestants for the Womanless Beauty Pageant eagerly await the judges’ choice for Ms Relay for Life 2010. FRANKLIN—Dulcie Mae was crowned Ms. Relay for Life 2010 during Saturday’s Womanless Beauty Pageant at Franklin High School.

Judges Debbie Hypes, Robert Petty and Ruth Sheffield chose Mae, which is actually Dave Lease’s stage name, for “her” beautiful poetry and fabulous hair. Reigning queen Ms. Stop, Drop & Roll — better known as Vince Holt —crowned the new queen.

Bullette was named Ms. Relay Runner-up. More commonly known as Josh Johnson, he is the 10-year-old son of Dan-YELL (Bull Johnson), who was not able compete due to work.

The People’s Choice Award went to Bobbi Jo (Bobby Cutchins), who raised $163.

Sponsored by Bronco Federal Credit Union Greenbacks Relay for Life team, the event raised $1,866. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Other contestants included Billy Ray (Jack Norvell), Delightful Doneata (Donnie Blythe), Destiny Cornwell (Dale Cornwell), Timothetta (Tim Dunn), BIG Sexy (Greg Scott), Willamena Haussenfeffer (Jason McHenry), Anita Johnson (Justin Whitley) and Ima Man (Dave Joll).

Contestants appeared in casual attire and evening gowns, and were interviewed. Several participated in the talent portion with cheerleading, singing, dancing, storytelling, comedy and poetry.

Emcee was Jeff Joyner.

There was as much fun backstage as the guys found out what it takes to become a beauty contestant. Some couldn’t tell the difference between the backs and fronts of their dresses, while others just gave up on the pantyhose.
