Williams, Beahm lead TA to VCC win

FARMVILLE—In a game with two inside-the-park home runs, it was pitcher Falon Williams, with nine strikeouts, who stood out in a 9-3 win over Fuqua in the quarterfinals of the Virginia Commonwealth Conference tournament.
TA’s Cary Beahm hit one of the homers. She went 4-for-4 and scored three runs. Fuqua’s Tatem Davis hit the other home run.
Also for the Lady Warriors, Brittany Wade went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs. Kristen Buhls went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Tyler Stephenson went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base.
The No. 5-seeded Lady Warriors will take on No. 1-seed Kenston Forest at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, in Wakefield for the VCC semifinals.
