Dr. and Mrs. J. Michael Ponder of Franklin have announced the engagement of their daughter Megan Rebecca to Alistar Roger Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Harris of Cape Town, South Africa.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Franklin High School and the Jepson School of Leadership Studies of the University of Richmond. She is employed with The Faison School in Richmond.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Kylemore High School and the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. He is a full-time food grower and farmer in Hanover.

A September 2012 wedding is planned.
