WINDSOR—Hank Anthony Drake, 59, passed away peacefully May 17, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Franklin, he was a son of the late Dock Vick Drake and Blanche Story Drake.
Hank graduated from Windsor High School in 1971, retired as a superintendent for the Virginia Department of Transportation after 34 years of dedicated and loyal service and was a member of Living Hope Community Fellowship.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Dock “Pug” Drake.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Jo Tee Quentin Drake, his back bone and love of his life; a daughter, Buffy J. Drake, the sunshine of his life; and Pamela Davis of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mary Ann Taylor and husband, Gerald, of Courtland and Betty Lou Cobb and husband, James, of Windsor; three brothers, Jerry Drake and wife, Linda, of Windsor, Freddie Drake of Norfolk and Steve Drake and Rudy Forman of Windsor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Living Hope Community Fellowship, 10001 Fire Tower Road, Windsor, Va., 23487 with Pastor Kevin Payne officiating. Entombment will follow at Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation and refreshments at Living Hope Community Fellowship following the entombment.
