Edwards, Greene win region titles

WEST POINT—Windsor’s Josh Edwards won the high jump and Malcolm Greene won the long jump during Thursday’s Region A Track and Field Championships at West Point High School.
Edwards jumped 6 foot and Greene made a leap of 21-01.5 inches to qualify for the State Championships at Radford University on June 2.
For Franklin, freshman Marcus Stephens took second in the 100-meter dash with an 11.2 time. He also anchored for the 4X100-meter relay team, which improved its time to 43.89 for a third-place finish. Travis Brown, Latrell Lane and Reshard Sumblin also were on the team.
The Windsor boys placed fifth in the meet out of 17 teams and the Lady Dukes eighth out of 15 teams. The Franklin boys placed 12th.
The following also qualified for the state meet.
