Franklin woman arrested for allegedly stabbing three people

FRANKLIN—A Franklin woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing three people during a 6 a.m. Friday fight at Dorchester Square Apartments, Franklin Police said.

Carletta Maria Demery, 24, was accused of stabbing Franklin residents Kendra Rogers, 22, in the chest, Darell Sykes, 23, in the face and butt, and Shardae Everett, 23, in the hand.

Police were called to Southampton Memorial Hospital emergency room for a stabbing victim. While at the hospital, a second stabbing victim arrived.

Through an investigation, police learned a fight occurred in at the apartment complex between Demery and another woman. The two others tried to break up the fight and all three received lacerations, police said.

It is unknown what started the fight.

Demery, who lives at Dorchester Square, was charged with malicious wounding, two counts of unlawful wounding and three counts of unlawfully stabbing. She was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
