Franklin to open basketball season on Dec. 15

FRANKLIN—The Franklin High School boys’ basketball season, which was delayed after the Broncos’ football team got into the state playoffs, will open Wednesday, Dec. 15, with a 5:30 p.m. makeup game at Northampton High School.
The Broncos could not begin basketball practice because more than 20 of its junior varsity and varsity players also played on the football team. The football season ended Saturday, Dec. 4, when Franklin lost 35-8 to Riverheads High School in the state semi-final game.
Prior to last week’s football game, basketball coach Danny Dillon had postponed Franklin’s Dec. 3 game against Northampton, the Dec. 10 game against Southampton High School and the Dec. 16 game against Chesterfield.
The Chesterfield game will be made up at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at Chesterfield.
The Broncos will play their first schedule game on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Southampton High School.
