COURTLAND—Two men were treated and released from Southampton Memorial Hospital after a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and compact pickup on Highway 58 in Courtland on Thursday morning.

The injured were Brian W. Futrell, 33, of Capron and John T. Jones Jr., 52, of Franklin.

Jones was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound at 7:30 and attempted to turn left into Seven-11, said Virginia State Police Trooper Sterling Johnson. Jones drove into the path of Futrell’s westbound 1989 Toyota Tacoma, hitting into the side of Jones’ vehicle, Johnson said.

Futrell was driving the speed limit, which is 55 mph.

Jones was cited with failure to yield.
