Rogers scored 34 points for first Franklin win

WINDSOR—Franklin girls got their first win of the season behind Tiara Roger’s 34 points, defeating Windsor 79-44 in a Tri-Rivers District match-up on Wednesday night.

Lady Bronco Jazmyn Anthony had her first double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

For the Lady Dukes, senior Whitney Searcy scored 21 points, including four, 3-pointers. She and freshman Tommie Curtis had 9 rebounds each. Curtis also made 5 steals and scored 6 points.

Franklin led 27-4 after the first quarter and 45-14 at the half. The Lady Broncos extended their lead to 57-22 before going into the final period.

“Turnovers from bad passes in the first half got us behind and we could not catch up the second half,” said Windsor Coach Holly Andreski. “I was pleased with the effort of the girls the second half.”

The Windsor junior varsity girls defeated the Broncos 16-8. Lyntroya Bagby scored 4 points for Franklin and teammate Armirah Stephens had 7 rebounds.

The Lady Broncos will host the Sussex Central on Friday, Jan. 14, with the junior varsity match starting at 5:30 p.m.
