FRANKLIN—Shirley Marie Blank, 85, widow of George Frederick Blank, passed away July 15, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Born in Union City, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Lunsman Spiegel.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Spiegel Jr. and Charles Spiegel; and four sisters, Margie Blanton, Mildred Spiegel, Adele Spiegel and Gloria Spiegel.

Left to cherish her memory are her two nephews, Charlie Spiegel Jr. and wife, Neda, of Iowa and Thomas Blanton of Virginia Beach; a great niece, Karen Spiegel of Idaho; and a beloved extended family, Greg, Angela, Jamie and Lucas Cutchin.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Danny Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends (today) Wednesday, July 18, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
