MURFREESBORO, N.C.—William Gatling, 67, of Murfreesboro, N.C., died Sunday, July 15, 2012.

The family will receive visitors 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 18, at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, N.C. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Gatling retired from International Paper in Franklin.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Wommack Gatling, and daughter, Melissa Ann Gatling.
