Consignment store opens in Courtland

COURTLAND—The Old and New Consignment Shop has opened at 28252 Southampton Parkway outside Courtland.
Owners Angela and Delbert Blythe sell “a little bit of everything,” including antiques, baby clothing, tools, modern and antique furniture, and new and used household items.
“We try to have something for everyone,” said Angela Blythe.
The couple is no stranger to this type of business. Angela Blythe’s mother, Judy Brown, ran a consignment shop is Suffolk called Judy’s Treasures for 15 years, and her father, Jimmy Brown, had a shop in Holland called the Dutch Market Antiques & Auctions for 10 years.
“You could say this kind of business is in my blood,” Angela Blythe said.
The couple opened the store because they love to shop at consignment stores.
“It is a great way to find good used items at reasonable prices, especially in this economy,” Angela Blythe said.
The store is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday though Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and is taking consignments items by appointment by calling 304-2112.
