FRANKLIN—The first Elite 58 Soccer Camp held this week at Armory Field in Franklin included 31 athletes ranging from 7 to 16 years old.
Campers focused on advanced skills including kicking accurately with both feet, shadowing, volleying, soccer lingo and spacing.
“These kids are impressive and many of them will be high school standouts, and a number of them, even at this age, are well on there way to being able to play in college,” said Coach Danny Dillon, a former Liberty University soccer player.
“The Armory Field made for a great environment, where we were able to post three fields, which allowed us to have great drills, competitive scrimmages and of course, the 58 Shootout,” Dillon added.
Also coaching were North Carolina Wesleyan player Clay Hyatt and former Franklin High School players Tony Bland and Mills Babb.
Greg Scott and Steph Wood with Cover 3 Foundation provided snacks and lunches.
