ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight Academy girls’ basketball team played Hampton Christian in the opening round of the Metro Conference Tournament Thursday night.

The game was held at Alliance Christian in Chesapeake.

The Lady Chargers are ranked No. 4 and Hampton is seeded No. 5

In boys’ action, the No. 3 seeded Chargers played No. 6 Stonebridge on Thursday night at Portsmouth Christian.
