Franklin man charged in break-in

SEDLEY—A Franklin man was arrested for allegedly stealing a guitar and handgun from a Sedley-area home, the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Charles Jason Whitley, 26, of Sycamore Church Road between 8 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Aug. 28 allegedly broke into the home on Hickory Knoll Drive, although there was no sign of forced entry, the sheriff’s office reported.
The guitar was found at a pawn shop in Suffolk.
Whitley was charged with selling stolen property, and breaking and entering.
