Babb crowned Miss Isle of Wight Academy

ISLE OF WIGHT—Lindsey Babb, a junior at Isle of Wight Academy, was named Miss Isle of Wight Academy during the 42nd Annual Beauty Pageant Saturday.
The daughter of Les and Missie Babb of Windsor also took first in the talent competition with a clogging routine and was chosen Miss Congeniality by her peers.
Ninth-grader Lexi Castillo, the daughter Joel and Margarita Castillo of Suffolk, was first runner-up, and sophomore Nicole Kelly, the daughter of Rob and Melanie Kelly of Suffolk, was second runner-up.
Gaby Bryce, the daughter of David and Rebecca Bryce of Suffolk, and Peyton Rogers, the daughter of Donnie and Stephanie Rogers of Suffolk, won People’s Choice awards.
Cassidy Spencer, daughter of Matt and Jennifer Spencer of Suffolk, was chosen Little Miss Isle of Wight Academy from the school kindergartners. She is the daughter of Matt and Jennifer Spencer of Suffolk.
Lindsey Babb was chosen from 28 contestants from the high school grade levels, sports teams and student groups. The 16-year-old did not participate in last year’s pageant, but was first runner-up the previous two years. Lindsey belongs to Key Club, Envirothon Science Team, Honor Society and Scholastic Bowl. A cheerleader at IWA, she enjoys dancing and has performed clog dancing and as an Irish Step dancer at outside events.
Lindsey hopes to attend either Longwood University or Virginia Tech, where she will work toward a degree in education in hopes of becoming a history teacher.
