ISLE OF WIGHT–Brandon Saxby threw three touchdown passes to lead Isle of Wight Academy to a 35-8 non-conference win over visiting Fuqua School on Friday.

Matt Brummett ran for 152 yards on 14 carries and Zeb Warnick had 105 yards on 12 carries for the Chargers, who improved to 4-1 overall and 4-1 in the VCC.

Isle of Wight rushed for 259 yards and passed for 112. Fuqua rushed for 125 yards and passed for 36.

The Chargers opened scoring in the second quarter on a Saxby 10-yard pass to Gage Rogers. Later in the quarter, Saxby connected with Jackson Goodman on a 16-yard pass for another touchdown.

In the third quarter, Brummett scored on an 8-yard run. Charger Aaron Fronfelter then scored on a 65-yard pass from Saxby.

In the final quarter, Fuqua’s Antonio Gonzalez scored on a 20-yard run.

Warnick ended the game with a 3-yard touchdown run.
