Broncos boys’ tennis team winless after four matches

FRANKLIN—In a Wednesday boys’ tennis match at Franklin High School, the Broncos lost 7-2 to Greensville County.
The Broncos won two of three matches, which lasted more than two hours apiece and went the distance with split sets.
No. 5 Tevin Sumblin, in celebration of his first win on the team, fell on the court after winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to Jawan Lundy in a match that lasted 2½ hours. No. 3 Shawn Derama in the next two-hour match defeated Quiarnte Ramsey 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
In the third two-hour match, Franklin’s No. 2 Michael Lawyer dropped his match 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, to Michael Gasalao.
In other single matches, No. 1 Parish Garza lost to Randy Hill, 6-3, 6-3 and No. 4 William Jackson went down to Devonte Evans-Picot 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles, No. 1 Garza and Jackson lost 8-5 to Hill and Ramsey; No. 2 Derama and Lawyer lost 8-5 to Evans-Picot & Ti’Rohn.
The Broncos are 0-4.
