COURTLAND—Vanessa Dale Barnes passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at her home in Courtland, Va.

She leaves behind her husband, John Barnes; two sons and their wives, Sidney and Shaunda Gainey and Dupree and Terra Gainey; four sisters, Mildred Ragland, Cynthia “Susie” Spain, Rosezenna McClenny and Mary Davis; three brothers, Randolph Hoskie, Edward Hoskie and Earl Hoskie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Franklin.

The service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
