Tidewater handed first district loss

FARMVILLE—Tidewater Academy’s volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Virginia Commonwealth Conference match to Fuqua School on Tuesday.
Set scores were 20-25, 25-10, 22-25, 22-25.
The Lady Warriors dropped to 10-1 in the VCC and 15-3 overall.
“We played tentatively,” said Tidewater Coach Jimmy Dunn. “We need to pick it up for the last few games of the regular season to finish strong.”
Leaders for the Lady Raiders were senior Cary Beahm with 14 kills; senior Falon Williams had 10 kills and 23 digs. Senior Tyler Stephenson had 19 assists.
TA at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, will host Kenston Forest for Senior Night.
