To the Editor:
On April 4, Sedley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Corinth Road in Ivor (“Brush fire spreads across 130 acres,” April 6).
Once on scene, Sedley called for backup. Seven neighboring fire departments, including 50 firemen, responded to assist.
Sedley Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank-you to all of the responding fire departments, including Ivor, Hunterdale, Courtland, Franklin, Carrsville, Windsor and Wakefield.
We would also like to thank Ivor Rescue for responding as a rehab unit for firefighters, the Ivor Ladies Auxiliary for providing meals for all of those who volunteered in this effort, and the local citizens and farmers.
With everyone’s help, 15 homes and many acres of farmland were protected.
