Dominion Power customer unhappy with service

To the Editor:

I am getting really disgusted with Dominion Power.

One example: This morning I was trying to read The Tidewater News, and the power went off again. It was raining a little, and there was another power surge; it was off for about one minute. Television, furnace, refrigerator and other appliances were on. We are still having power surges.

People are beginning to wonder when they leave home if they will have a home to come back to. It was a mess a while back; people had homes filled with smoke and appliances destroyed due to power surges.

I went and called Dominion. The man said he would file it as a volunteer call and have someone call me to discuss the problem. I have no way of knowing where he is from — Texas, or somewhere else. I am sure he knows what is going on in Capron.

Dominion wants to raise our rates $12.76 more a month, according to the news and our paper. How can they expect their customers not to complain about rate increases?

I think customers should complain more, and maybe we would get better service. Now we are paying for less power and less service.
