NEWSOMS—Thomas “F.T.” Everett Fletcher Sr. of Newsoms, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

A service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Mt. Gilead AME Church in Franklin.

Mr. Fletcher was a farmer and for more than 30 years worked for Planters Peanuts in Suffolk.

He is survived by his children Angela Gibson of Seaboard, N.C., Evelyn Diane Shearin, Fletcher T. Everett Jr., Bennett Everett Sr. of Newsoms and Fitzgerald Everett of Norfolk; and sisters Doris Miggins of Franklin, Beatrice Stephenson-Howard of New Jersey and Bernice Haymes of Georgia.
