Sedley Spring Fling a successful fundraiser, organizers say

To the Editor:
Sedley’s Spring Fling was one of the many events held on Saturday, May 7, as a fundraiser.
We started with a yard sale, which also was one of many, but it was almost a sellout (which was wonderful). We had vendors and would like to thank each of them.
Some of Sedley’s finest chefs donated baked goods; we thank them because they sold quickly — cakes and pies for mom on Mother’s Day or brownies to snack on as you shopped.
Lunch was provided by the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department — barbecue and homemade coleslaw and home-baked cake (this was a fundraiser for them also).
The antique hit-and-miss engines were on display, and if you didn’t get to see them, come to Sedley on the Fourth of July and they will be there.
The second annual Poochie Pageant let dogs strut, and we thank the owners for entering them.
The Sedley Recreation Association would like to thank all those who stopped by this event and participated in it. It was a fundraiser for maintenance, upkeep of the ball field and small park in Sedley, and the July Fourth event.
Put Sedley on your calendar for July Fourth; plans are being made. There will be a lot of games for kids, and fun and food for the whole family.
Thanks again and God bless.
