Maria S. Story

COURTLAND—Maria S. Story passed away January 24, 2013, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

A native of Norte Havana, Cuba, she was a daughter of the late Juan and Juana Hernandez Sanchez and was a graduate of Radford University where she earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees.

She was a retired budget analyst with the Southampton County School Board for over 30 years and a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Robert “Bobby” B. Story III; her daughter, Anna Maria Sanchez Story of Delaware; sister, Zunilda S. Romo and her husband, Nino, of Florida and her brother, Jose A. Sanchez and his wife, Anne, of Oklahoma.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Newsoms United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darwin Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
