PORTSMOUTH—The Isle of Wight Academy girls’ basketball team fell 38-25 to Portsmouth Christian in a Metropolitan Athletic Conference game on Saturday.
“It was probably our worst shooting game all year,” said IWA Coach Chris Hooper.
The Lady Chargers fell to 8-3 in the MAC and 10-5 overall.
Sophomore Gabriella Hooper led IWA with 13 points; she went 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
In action from Thursday, The Lady Chargers fell to MAC opponent Williamsburg Christian 74-25.
“That was a tough game. Williamsburg is a very good team,” Hooper said. “They had one girl who went six-for-six from behind the three-point line.”
Hooper led IWA with 11 points and sophomore Brooke Olsavicky added six.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Broadwater Academy for a 5:30 p.m. MAC game on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
