ZUNI—Barbara W. Stokes, 67, of Barrett Town Road, Zuni, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at her home.
She was born May 30, 1943, in Alberta, Va., to the late Mr. Thomas D. Williams and Mrs. Missie Lewis Williams.
She is survived by a loving husband, Randolph Stokes; son, Reginald Williams, his wife Lavonne and their daughter Corie. She also leaves to mourn three sisters, Etta and Anna (Billy) of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Glorine (Howard) of Triangle, Va.; and two brothers, Alfred of Lawrenceville, Va., and Thomas of Alberta, Va. She will be missed by a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Chapel Grove United Church of Christ, Windsor, Va., where Reverend H. Carlyle Church Jr., M. Div. is pastor; Reverend John Townsell delivered the message; Reverend Johnnie Warren, presiding.
The Committal and Benediction will be in the church cemetery.
A traditional service with dignity was conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin, Va.
