SUFFOLK—Southampton County native Sarah M. Elam, 84, of Suffolk died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mrs. Elam was a housewife.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda Scott of Suffolk, Linda Holland of Carrsville, and Laverne Johnson and Sarah Haley, both of Suffolk; and sons Larry Elam of Chesapeake, Calvin Elam of Newport News, James Elam of Portsmouth, and Ernest and Eric Elam, both of Suffolk.

A funeral will be held at noon, Saturday, March 2, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St., Suffolk. Burial will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Brenda and Ricky Scott, 109 Shepherd St., Suffolk.
